In serving the public, we don’t get a lot of positive closure from some of our more grievous calls for service. This past Saturday was a wonderful exception, we received a visit from three-year-old Zanaiyah with her mom and dad. In 2021, Zanaiyah’s mom was in a motor vehicle collision with a drunk driver, while she was 8 months pregnant. Officer Wade was the first on scene for the accident. Zanaiyah’s parents informed us of the lifesaving measures that were taken following the accident that resulted in an 89-day hospital stay. The donuts and coffee the family brought us were appreciated but paled in comparison to watching the little girl light up our station.
