MILFORD RESIDENT ARRESTED ON THREE COUNTS OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

For Immediate Release Thursday, September 12, 2024

 On Wednesday September 11, 2024, at approximately 5:19pm, members from the Milford Police Department Detective Bureau in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crime Unit executed a search warrant in the area of Casey Drive in our town.

 As a result of the execution of the warrant, David Lieberman, 33, of Milford, MA was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of child pornography.  The arrest is the conclusion of a months-long investigation.

Deputy Chief Carlos Sousa commented on the arrest, “I would like to thank our detective division and Massachusetts State Police for their exceptional work and unwavering dedication to investigating internet crimes against children.  Their commitment to this critically important area of law enforcement, has made a significant and lasting impact on the safety and well-being of the most vulnerable of victims.”

Lieberman was held on $50,000 bail and transported to Milford District Court for arraignment this morning.

September 11th, 2001, a day of unforgettable tragedy. Four coordinated attacks killed 2,977 people, injured thousands more and gave rise to substantial long-term health consequences. To ensure our victims live forever, we must never forget.

9/11 hits especially close to home for our agency. Milford Police Chief, Robert Tusino was a member of the NYPD at the time of the attacks and responded to ground zero.

Today at 8:46am, the time American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower, we will have a memorial radio acknowledgement across our emergency channels.

MILFORD POLICE SEEKS HELP FROM THE PUBLIC TO LOCATE STOLEN DOG

On Tuesday, August 27th at approximately 11:00PM, the Milford Public Safety Communications center received a 911 call for dog abducted from a Main St. residence in our town.

 On arrival, Officers were met by the animal’s owners, who stated they heard their dog, “My Love” cry and when she made her way to check on the dog, discovered it was gone.  It is believed the suspects entered the residence through a rear access door to the apartment. 

 Bellingham Police Department is also currently investigating two Micro-American Bulldog abductions in their town.  It is not confirmed that these incidents are connected at this time.

MILFORD POLICE ARREST 35-YEAR-OLD MALE ON DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGES

For Immediate Release Wednesday August 28, 2024

 On Tuesday, August 27th, 2024, at 9:24pm, Members of the Milford Police Department Patrol and Detective Bureau responded to Hayward St for a possible drug overdose.  Through an on-scene investigation, officers discovered large quantity of bundled and stamped narcotics, totaling 23.5 grams.

 At the conclusion of the investigation, a 35-year-old Milford resident, Tiago Fernandes Da Silva was placed under arrest and charged with the following.

  COCAINE, TRAFFICKING IN 18 GRAMS OR MORE, LESS THAN 36 GRAMS

DRUG, POSSESS TO DISTRIB CLASS B

FENTANYL, TRAFFICKING IN MORE THAN 10 GRAMS

Milford Police Department Hiring Civilian Communications Officers

The Milford Police Department is currently seeking highly motivated, qualified individuals for full and part-time civilian communications positions.

Reporting directly to the Communications Supervisor, this position is responsible for ensuring the highest quality and standards of service to the public and emergency response personnel, ensuring proper and efficient screening and processing of emergency and non-emergency calls for service from the Milford Police and Fire Departments.

Selected candidates should possess NexGen911, EMD Power Phone, and PST1-APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator certifications or attend department paid training courses to acquire these certifications. Additional in-house and off-site training may be required.

 

Starting FT Hourly-$27.19

Starting P/T Hourly-$30.16

Minimum high school diploma or equivalency

Accurate typing of 30 words per minute is preferable

MILFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATE FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT

For Immediate Release Sunday, August 25th, 2024

             On Saturday, August 24th, 2024, at approximately 4:33PM, the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle vs. motorcycle collision in the vicinity of Cedar St. and the 495 Southbound on-ramp.

             On arrival, first responders immediately began rendering aid to a 43-year-old male from Hopkinton, MA, who had been ejected from his motorcycle and collided with a nearby rock formation.  The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Milford Regional Hospital by Community Ambulance with life-threatening injures, where he was declared deceased.  The operator of the motor vehicle was also transported to Milford Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

             Members of the Milford Police Detective Bureau and Massachusetts State Police Accident Recon team responded and continued the investigation into the night.  There is no further information available currently.
