MILFORD POLICE RESPOND TO MV VS PEDESTRIAN INCIDENT

On Thursday February 1st at approximately 6:29PM, The Milford Public Safety Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a pedestrian struck in the area of 194 West St.    Milford Police officers arrived first on scene rendering aid to the victim and closing down the surrounding block of RT 140 while responders from the Milford Fire Department and Community EMS arrived on scene to tend to the victim.

 The victim was transported by Lifeflight to UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with serious injuries.  At time of release accident recon remains on scene investigating.

MPD Alerting Kia and Hyundai Owners

A recent Tik-Tok and social media challenge has made car thieves aware of a security flaw in Kia and Hyundai models from 2010-2022. Our friends at Worcester PD have seen 36 such models stolen since November 1st 2023.

The flaw in question allows access to the ignition system, giving those committing the crime easy, minimal damage access to the vehicle.

As always we recommended keeping your vehicles locked and parked in secure, well lit areas.

Parking Ban In Effect January 28th 4pm

On Sunday January 28th, beginning at 4pm, The Milford Police Department will be mandating a winter parking ban. During this time vehicles are prohibited from parking on the roadways. Our agency will be enforcing the ban by ticketing and towing vehicles parked along the roadways. Please seek off street parking, including our municipal lots on Fayette St, Pine St, Jefferson St. and the Pond St. lot across from Sacred Heart Church. An end parking ban announcement will be released at the conclusion of the ban.

MILFORD POLICE OFFICERS PERFORM LIFE SAVING CPR

For Immediate Release January 26st, 2024 1:30pm

             On December 31st 2023, at approximately 12:03am, The Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call for a 26yom in medical distress at The Fairfield Inn, located at 1 Fortune Blvd.  Upon arrival, Officers Michael Johnson and Brendan Campbell forced entry into a bathroom where they encountered the unresponsive patient and immediately began life-saving CPR measures.  Following a transfer of care to Community EMS and the Milford Fire Department, the patient was transported to UMASS Memorial Medical Center.  

            The Milford Police Department would like to publicly acknowledge the life-saving efforts of Officers Johnson and Campbell whose response and readiness to act resulted in the patients’ resuscitation and recovery of all cognitive functions.

MILFORD POLICE ARREST FEMALE FOR BITE ATTACK

For Immediate Release January 21st, 2024 5:30pm

             On Sunday January 21, 2024 at approximately 3:17 a.m., the Milford Police Patrol Division responded to the Milford Police Department lobby to assist a female with a deep facial laceration. Milford Fire Department and Community Ambulance were immediately dispatched to treat the female victim.

  The ensuing investigation determined that the female victim was attacked in her resdence by another female and two males. During the attack, VALDIRENE DA CRUZ SANTOS of Worcester, MA, bit the victims face causing a deep laceration to occur on her upper lip. Valdirene was arrested a short time later by patrol officers. The two males involved in the altercation will also be charged. Valdirene Da Cruz Santos is charged with the following:

             Ch. 265 Sec. 14 – Mayhem

            Ch. 265 Sec. 13A – A&B, Serious Bodily Injury

            Ch. 266 Sec. 16 – B&E, Building/Nighttime to Commit Felony

MILFORD POLICE ARREST THIRD SUSPECT IN AROMA BRAZIL ROBBERY

On Tuesday January 17th at approximately 10:07am, Milford Police Detectives apprehended Jonatha De Araujo Lima, 19, of Franklin, on charges related to his involvement in the January 9th Aroma Brazil armed robbery.  De Araujo Lima was arrested at his home in Franklin without incident by members of the Milford Police Detective Bureau, MSP Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and Franklin Police Department.

             De Araujo Lima will be arraigned at Milford District Court today.  The Milford Police Department would like to thank our community for their continued engagement and support in the apprehension of the suspects.

MILFORD POLICE ARREST STABBING SUSPECT

On Wednesday January 17, 2024 at 3:39 a.m., a Milford Police patrol officer was conducting checks along Main St. He encountered two male parties in the area of Main St. @ S Bow St. One male flagged the officer down and advised him he had just been stabbed.

 Milford Fire Department and Community Ambulance arrived on scene and transported the victim to Umass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA. The suspect, Pedro Caetano of Milford, was arrested on scene without incident. Pedro is being charged with the following:

           Ch. 265 Sec. 16 – Attempted Murder

          Ch. 265 Sec. 15 – Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon

          Ch. 265 Sec. 13 – Assault and Battery

MILFORD POLICE SEEKING SUSPECT INFORMATION IN KNIFE ROBBERY

On January 15th, 2024, at 5:22pm, The Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call from a Portuguese speaking male reporting he had been robbed at knifepoint at USB Connection Services convenience store, located at 46 Main St.  The caller reported a Spanish speaking male with a dark complexion, wearing a black coat, jeans and a mask had robbed him brandishing two knives and attempted to slash him with the weapons before taking approximately $200 in cash.
